Brent Rodgers is the newest comer to the juice scene, operating a delivery service out of his house while negotiating a brick-and-mortar location. The Texarkana native and ex-stockbroker returned to Dallas after some time in Los Angeles and a year’s sojourn around the world. Both the Southern California sun and the hefty globetrotting led to the debut of Roots this month in Dallas. “Everyone in L.A. is about fresh juice — of course,” Rodgers says. The other light-bulb moment was an experience at the Syria-Israel border. “There was this huge line. I thought it was to get across, but it was actually for fresh celery and carrot juice. I realized this is a way of life and not just a trend.”
