BREAKING DOWN Cannabidiol
How does CBD work?
In the last 20 years, natural cannabinoid receptor systems have been discovered in the human body. It is binding to these receptors that cannabinoids produce their pharmacological effects. There are two types of cannabinoid receptors in humans, CB1 & CB2. CB1 receptors are present in the brain, spinal cord and certain peripheral tissues. CB2 receptors are found primarily in immune tissues.
According to a 2013 review published article in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, studies have found CBD to possess the following medical properties: Seizure Suppression, Anti-Inflammatory and Pain Reduction Properties, Anti-anxiety and Antidepressant, Combats Neurodegenerative Disorders, Antipsychotic Effects, Slow Brain Aging, Anti-Cancer Properties, Increase Brain Activity and Antibacterial.
